This is a fairly new recent event that many webmasters have reported. And the questions raised are valid. But it seems that many webmasters cheat and do not prioritize their links or set them all as "1.00" - Google is finally catching on and they know better. Currently a fix for this is setting your links to the default "0.50", then you will manually need to redefine priority on any pages that are actually changed more often and more important.

This will be an interesting discussion to toss around in the bullpen with the other webmaster! Maybe in a few days a better alternative plan will arise.
